Pathogenic variants in over five hundred different genes are recognized as causes of various movement disorders. The growing accessibility and decreasing cost of genetic testing have led to its increased clinical use in diagnosing movement disorders. This session will cover who and how clinicians should suggest genetic testing in patients with movement disorders and highlight the importance of genetic counseling before and after the test in clinical practice.
